About Our
School

Our Lady of the Lakes School
was founded in 1986. The first phase of the school was completed in August of
1987. The school began that year, with only four classrooms: two
Kindergarten classes, one first grade class and one second grade class.
Phase two was then completed and it was dedicated by Arch Bishop Edward A.
McCarthy on September 22, 1990. In 1997, the gymnasium, several
Kindergarten classrooms, the Music room, the Computer Lab and the Science room
were completed. Our Lady of the Lakes currently has over 600 students in grades
PK4 through 8th grade. The school has significantly grown from its small
beginnings. This year marks 14 years since the school was founded.

Mission Statement |
|
Our
Lady of the Lakes School is a Roman Catholic school that primarily serves
the practicing Catholic families of Our Lady of the Lakes Church and the
neighboring parishes that do not have schools. Admission is open to
students of all faiths, cultures, and races. |
|
Philosophy |
|
Our
Lady of the Lakes strives to develop a Catholic spirit in students by
working to unlock their God-given potentials: the spiritual, the
emotional, the intellectual, the physical, the aesthetic, and the social.
Utilizing this whole child philosophy, the school is committed to
developing an appreciation for and respect for South Florida’s
multicultural community and to providing its students with the tools to
lead happy, productive lives in the information age. |
